136 Restaurant Brings A Fresh Face to Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
Located at 136 N Third Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, 136 Restaurant may appear small, but it’s fabulous and affordable menu, knowledgeable staff, and welcoming atmosphere is definitely going to turn it into your next favorite spot.
After a long absence from the Sturgeon Bay Dining Scene to raise her five children, Owner Sharon Peterson missed cooking for others. She started a fledgling business in the Hole N’ One Mobil on the West Side. The small and limited kitchen quickly turned into a thriving business and she realized she must expand.
After working with the Door County Economic Development Corporation to secure funding, Peterson found herself back in Full Service dining in a prime spot in the bustling downtown district in Sturgeon Bay. From signing on the dotted line, Peterson opened 136 in an impressive four weeks, debuting the restaurant on Valentine’s Day of this year. Although it seems incredibly fast, you’d never know it all came together so quickly when looking around the masterfully decorated trendy dining room or the expertly created menu.
Serving up lunch and dinner year round, 136 has already made a name for itself. Touting a phenomenal lunch menu with something for everyone all for under $20, it has become the Go-To spot for business lunches or a friendly gathering. At night, the restaurant transforms to a hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Lunch is served Monday through Saturdays starting at 11am. Dinner service is available Wednesday through Saturdays until 10pm. For more information, please visit their facebook page or call 920.746.1100. When dining with them, make sure you say that Door County Chefs says hi! We love showing support for our members!

Drink Coffee Finds New Home on Sister Bay Hill
Have no fear; we have not lost our beloved cookie and coffee shop that has become a landmark of the Sister Bay Hill. They’ve just moved downhill a little bit. Opening at the shop’s new location, Rachel Lohman and her husband Scooter couldn’t be happier.
The new home for Drink Coffee is the former Moretti’s building. The couple officially bought the building on February 22 of this year. Since then, they have spent nearly every day completely redoing both the interior and exterior of the building.
The new store will feature a full kitchen and bakery, outdoor seating and carry out options. Rachel’s creativity gets to flourish here in this larger home. She will be expanding the menu to feature salads, soups, Premium Sandwiches, and more.
A great new option will be the carry out lunch boxes including a sandwich, chips and a cookie. These would be perfect for those heading to the beach, out on the boat, or back to work.
The Bakery will be serving up croissants, cookies, and of course the delectable Cherry Queen Cookies that have become her best seller.
It’s the shop’s fifteenth year in operation and Rachel has owned it for the past eight years. They are planning to be open before Memorial Day weekend but Scooter, chiming in from the rooftop busy removing shingles, thinks it’ll be sooner.
Keep an eye out on Drink Coffee’s Facebook Page for updates and an opening date! For more photos of the progress, check out Door County Chef’s Facebook Page!
