SOUP! in 500 handmade bowls
SOUP! is a three-month project, made possible through the input of schools, churches, volunteers, after school groups and those who participate in “Family Days” at Peninsula School of Art. Hundreds of hours are involved in the creation of 500 hand-built, unique, pottery soup bowls, loading and unloading kilns for the initial bisque and final glaze firings, as well as the culinary efforts in baking homemade breads and cooking a variety of delicious soups.
According to Community Relations Director, Cinnamon Rossman, SOUP! is a celebration of the efforts of hundreds of Door County residents. “It’s gratifying to witness how our community has embraced The SOUP! Project,” she says, “From the children and adults who create the bowls, to the restaurants and individuals who donate the soup and breads, we’re grateful to all the people who roll up their sleeves to benefit our worthy causes.”
During the event you are also encouraged to participate in family-friendly art activities, at no additional charge! Peninsula School of Art is located at 3900 County F in Fish Creek.
