Greens N Grains Launches Learning Opportunities on Nutritional Sprouts and Vegetable Gardening in Door County
A series of classes designed to introduce students to healthy natural eating and food analysis, on sprouting seeds for nutritional purposes and a class on seed-starting for home gardeners will be featured at Greens N Grains Natural Food Store in Egg Harbor.
“We plan to explore everything along a path that leads to better health, from the grocer’s shelves out to the garden,” says Greens N Grains founder Kathy Navis.
Sprouting 101 - The basics of sprouting seeds and grains for nutritional purposes

This class will cover the basics on how to sprout organic beans, grains and seeds. We will show you several easy methods for sprouting and share with you some of our favorite recipes using sprouts. Participants will have the opportunity to taste a variety of sprouts as well as enjoy a sample of our own sprouted grain salad. Sprouting tools and organic seeds for sprouting will be available for purchase. Class fee of $10. Advance registration required.
Starting Garden Plants from Seed

Class taught by Linda Cockburn
Local organic gardening maven Linda Cockburn will teach you how to start all of the plants you need for a complete home vegetable garden… in just one flat! And, with only one light! Get a jump on the growing season by doing what the greenhouses do at home. Linda will also share information on heirlooms and organic growing techniques.
Class fee of $5. Advance registration required.
